TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF MEMBERSHIP

Terms and Conditions 

1.1 These terms and conditions shall govern your membership agreement with the Young Politicians & Leaders Network. By submitting your application, you agree to abide by these terms and conditions, as amended and notified to you from time to time by the Young Politicians & Leaders Network.

1.2 Your membership application is subject to approval by the Young Politicians & Leaders Network (such approval to be given or withheld at the absolute discretion of the YPLN) and payment in cleared funds of all applicable membership fees when due and you will be notified by letter when your application has been accepted.

1.3 Once your application has been accepted, your membership shall continue for so long as the applicable membership fees are paid in full by you in accordance with the following provisions of this clause. At the commencement of your membership and at the expiry of each 12-month period thereafter whilst you remain a member you will be sent a renewal invoice. Your membership shall automatically cease in the event that payment in cleared funds of all applicable membership fees then due as indicated in the applicable renewal invoice is not made by you to the Young Politicians & Leaders Network within the timescales specified in clause 3.2.

1.4 All country management members are to be members of YPLN. In essence to become a management member, you should be a member.

2. Services 

2.1 Your membership entitles you to attend Young Politicians & Leaders events at a discounted fee based on membership level. You will have access to our mentorship programmes and the opportunity to be invited to attend a conference, summit or forum as our delegate.

You will also benefit from our business facilitation programmes for those with business ideas based on membership level. You will benefit from our travel and tour initiatives based on membership level. You will take advantage of our high-profile networking events based on membership level.

NOTE: Non members are not eligible for discounts on any of our events that we charge. Non members will be qualified to participate in all of our events and will receive early invitation to register for events. Non members will also benefit from all our events.

To keep up with membership as an Associate Member Project Assistant  or Fellow Member Project Officer, you will be expected to attend or participate in at least 5 of our events or projects yearly.  

3. Fees and Payment 

3.1 Membership fees are subject to change.

3.2 Payment of all fees must be made by cheque, transfers via MOMO, bacs or by direct debit and be made payable to “Young Politicians & Leaders Network” or an account provided by Young Politicians & Leaders Network. Payment of all membership fees must be made within 40 days of the date of the applicable payment request. Event fees must be paid prior to the date of the event.

4. Cancellation of Membership 

4.1 You may cancel your membership by giving us 5 months’ notice in writing. At the end of this 6-month notice period you will be refunded the unexpired portion of your annual membership fee.

4.2 We may cancel your membership at any time without notice in our absolute discretion. Unless such cancellation is for a reason stated at clause 4.3 below, we will refund the unexpired portion of your annual membership fee.

4.3 We will not be obliged to refund your membership fee if we cancel your membership where:

(a) You breach your membership agreement;
(b) You are convicted of a criminal offence; or
(c) Your continued membership may, in our sole opinion, affect the reputation of the Young Politicians & Leaders Network or any of its other members.

5. Privacy Policy 

5.1 Unless we inform you otherwise, all events we organise will be held under the Chatham House Rule of confidentiality that, at any of our events, participants are free to use the information received, but neither the identity nor the affiliation of the speaker(s), nor that of any other participant, may be published or disclosed.

5.2 We collect information about you when you apply for membership, register for an event, and provide event feedback. Website usage information is collected using on-line application forms and cookies.

5.3 With your permission we may place your name, photograph, position, company or school name and company website address on the ‘’OUR FELLOWS” section of the Young Politicians & Leaders Network website. We will also place your name and company or school on our membership list. These lists may be viewed by members and non-members of the Young Politicians & Leaders Network. New member names and company names are published on our social media channels and magazines which are available to members and non-members of the Young Politicians & Leaders Network.

5.4 We would like to send you information about events and services of ours and other members of the Young Politicians & Leaders Network which may be of interest to you. If you have consented to receive marketing, you may opt out at a later date. You have a right at any time to stop us from contacting you for marketing purposes or giving your information to other members of the Young Politicians & Leaders Network. If you no longer wish to be contacted for marketing purposes, please contact info.ypln@yahoo.com

5.5 You have the right to request a copy of the information that we hold about you. If you would like a copy of some or all of your personal information, please email.

We may make a small charge for this service. We want to make sure that your personal information is accurate and up to date. You may ask us to correct or remove information you think is inaccurate.

5.6 We agree not to forward, submit or publicise any other details, or any information we receive from you, to other members or to third parties without your consent.

6. Liability 

6.1 Except as set out in clause 6.2, the Young Politicians & Leaders Network will be under no liability to you whatsoever whether in contract, tort, (including negligence), breach of statutory duty, restitution or otherwise for any damage or direct, indirect or consequential loss (all three of which latter terms include, without limitation, pure economic loss, loss of profits, loss of business, lost savings, depletion of goodwill and like loss) howsoever caused arising out of or in connection with your membership of the Young Politicians & Leaders Network or attendance at any of our events.

6.2 These terms and conditions do not exclude our liability (if any) to you for personal injury or death resulting from the Young Politicians & Leaders Network negligence, for fraud, or for any matter which it would be illegal for the Young Politicians & Leaders Network to exclude or to attempt to exclude its liability.

7. Severability 

7.1 If any clause or part of these terms and conditions is found by any court, tribunal or administrative body of competent jurisdiction to be wholly or partly illegal, invalid or unenforceable in any respect this will not affect any other provision of these terms and conditions which will remain in full force and effect.

8. Governing Law 

8.1 The membership agreement will be governed by the law of Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, Liberia, England and Wales and the courts of England and Wales, and any other country we will have membership from respectively and have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any disputes which may arise out of or in connection with the membership agreement.

Emmanuel Addo is the founder of the Young Global Leaders Network, an international non-governmental organization registered in six (6) countries namely, Ghana, United Kingdom, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Democratic Republic of Congo, and South Sudan and has a membership strength of over 15,000 young black professionals, students, graduates, and aspiring leaders.

The organization also operates in 25 other African countries. Emmanuel also doubles as the chief convener and founder of the Young African Leaders Summit, one of the largest continental youth summits in Africa.  

Currently works at Kingston University as a Business Engagement Team Member in their Partnerships and Engagement Department. 

He characterizes energy, integrity, result-oriented, and ground-breaking service in each detail of strategic management, change management, stakeholder management, and leadership acquaintances.
Emmanuel owns a core background in Sociology and Psychology from the University of Ghana.

Leveraging his experience as a youth activist and a dynamic young man, Emmanuel founded the Young Global Leaders Network, a youth organization that comprises young diplomats, young politicians, and aspiring politicians, business/entrepreneurial business leaders with the aim of championing a mutual agenda for the African youth and promoting youth participation in governance as well as promoting entrepreneurial culture.
Emmanuel nurtures an environment of teamwork and has expertise in data collection and analysis as well as both quantitative and qualitative methods.

Emmanuel worked as an Associate Lecturer at the London College of Advanced Management where he delivered a wide range of business management courses that involved principles of marketing, leadership, operation management, and research methods. Emmanuel has always maintained high teaching and learning standards to ensure that his students’ stand out in academic achievements and successful progression. As a stout believer and passionate key player in volunteering; Emmanuel creates quality time to giving back gladly to his community what he has learned and to educate individuals with free consultancy on career development. He is a leader anyone would love to look up to and with great integrity, commitment, and passion to make the world a better place.
Emmanuel worked as Qualifications Manager at the Open University in the UK.

Emmanuel is also the founder of Kickstart Innovation Hub Ltd, the entrepreneurial hub of Young Global Leaders Network.
