Young Ghanaian Leaders’ Summit empowered youth-led solutions and provided a unique platform for youth leaders in Ghana to exchange experience and ideas and empowered them to possess the tools needed to realize their vision for a better community.

Organized by Young Global Leaders Network, the Summit was also an opportunity for participants to commonly imagine how the New Africa could look like: from the impact of the current challenges in Employment & Entrepreneurship, Politics & Trust to how Technology transforms Industries, Services, and Identities that Africa is confronted with.

The summit brought together young people who worked on issues as varied as education, entrepreneurship, volunteerism, youth policies, equality, and so much more!

Some of the summit’s side attraction included Certificate of Participation, Workshops, Panel sessions, Open Forum, Debate competition, Mentorship, Networking, Career advice and Job opportunities from Ghanaian companies and hiring agencies, YGLN T-Shirt, Refreshments (at participants during the summit), and United Nations Youth Association Ghana Parliamentary session.

The Summit was open with a plenary session that connected youth representatives and speakers from across Ghana, the private sector, government, and academia with the objective of engaging views, ideas, and debate to rethink the future of Ghana.

Workshops

Attendees participated in workshops that delved into the Summit’s subthemes, giving participants an opportunity to share ideas and experience. Participants at this workshop will developed projects based on their subthemes and used 4 months to work on their projects and achieved the project aim.

Debate Competition

There was a debate competition on the topic – ‘Africa’s youth: a ‘’ticking time bomb’’ or an opportunity.

Emmanuel Addo
Founder

Emmanuel Addo is a Ghanaian-born leadership strategist, youth development advocate, and the visionary founder of the Young Global Leaders Network. A former student activist at the University of Ghana, he holds an MBA from Anglia Ruskin University, a Postgraduate Diploma in Strategic Management from the UK, and is completing a Doctor of Business Administration at Manipal GlobalNxt University in Malaysia.

Currently a Manager at one of the UK’s leading universities, Emmanuel also holds certificates from the University of Oxford and the Malta Leadership Institute. Under his leadership, YGLN has grown to over 10,000 members across Africa, with registered branches in nine countries and presence in 15 others. He is also the founder and Chief Convener of the Young African Leaders Summit, and has supported over 370 young entrepreneurs and mentored more than 2,000 African youths.

Emmanuel’s work continues to impact policy, leadership, and entrepreneurship across Africa and beyond.
