PROF. RANSFORD GYAMPO

Born on 31st March 1977, Prof Ransford Gyampo is an Associate Professor of Political Science and Director of the Centre for European Studies at the University of Ghana.

Until recently, he was a visiting scholar at the Department of Government and International Relations at the University of South Florida, USA.

He currently serves as Visiting Professor at the Institute of Advanced Studies at the University of Bristol, UK.

In addition, he was a Senior Research Fellow at the Governance Unit of the Institute of Economic Affairs and led several research projects and played a key role in the IEA’s Socio-Economic and Governance Surveys for over a decade.

For 14 years, Professor Gyampo served as the Coordinator of the Ghana Political Parties Programme, a programme that brings together the Political Parties with representation in Ghana’s Parliament to discuss issues of national importance in a non-partisan manner and to propose practical solutions to them.

He is a member of Ghana’s Electoral Reforms Committee and played a key role in identifying the challenges of Ghana’s electoral processes and submitting electoral reform proposals to the Electoral Commission for the purposes of fine-tuning Ghana’s electoral system.

He is also a Senior Research Fellow at the Institute for Democratic Governance (IDEG) with the responsibility of handling research issues relating to strengthening developmental parties and improving democratic devolution in Ghana.

He is currently researching and writing on possible solutions to Ghana’s winner-takes-all politics, which polarizes developing nations and undermine national development.

He has published extensively in many internationally refereed journals across the globe.

Prof Gyampo is a Christian by faith and enjoys playing football and riding motor bike as hobbies.

Emmanuel Addo is a Ghanaian-born leadership strategist, youth development advocate, and the visionary founder of the Young Global Leaders Network. A former student activist at the University of Ghana, he holds an MBA from Anglia Ruskin University, a Postgraduate Diploma in Strategic Management from the UK, and is completing a Doctor of Business Administration at Manipal GlobalNxt University in Malaysia.

Currently a Manager at one of the UK’s leading universities, Emmanuel also holds certificates from the University of Oxford and the Malta Leadership Institute. Under his leadership, YGLN has grown to over 10,000 members across Africa, with registered branches in nine countries and presence in 15 others. He is also the founder and Chief Convener of the Young African Leaders Summit, and has supported over 370 young entrepreneurs and mentored more than 2,000 African youths.

Emmanuel’s work continues to impact policy, leadership, and entrepreneurship across Africa and beyond.
