YALS Young Leader of the Month

April 2026: Titus Owusu Darko

The Young African Leaders Summit (YALS) is proud to name Titus Owusu Darko as its Young Leader of the Month for April 2026. A Ghanaian student leader, youth advocate, and innovation‑driven change maker, Titus exemplifies a new generation of African leadership. His work is rooted in practical action, policy awareness, and entrepreneurial thinking. He consistently bridges the gap between youthful ambition and tangible skills development.

As the 59th Secretary for Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Skills Development of the National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS), Titus leads system‑level initiatives that equip students across Ghana with future‑ready competencies. He fosters startup thinking and enables access to growth opportunities. His role is not merely administrative; it is transformative.

Titus’s growing influence has earned national recognition. He is the 2025 Commonwealth Day Essay Competition Winner, honoured at the Parliament of Ghana for an outstanding contribution that reflected both intellectual depth and civic consciousness.

He is also a recognised Youth Leadership Champion, driving innovation and policy engagement in Ghana’s youth ecosystem. Increasingly, he is a rising voice, steadily positioning himself as a moral and strategic leader in the country’s evolving leadership landscape.

YALS celebrates Titus not only for what he has achieved but for what he represents: the power of young Africans to shape their own futures. His focus on empowering peers through skills, mentorship, and institutional change aligns directly with YALS’s core mission to nurture, connect, and amplify the next generation of continental leaders.

Titus Owusu Darko’s journey is a reminder that leadership is not a title. It is a practice. His dedication challenges young people everywhere to move beyond inspiration into implementation.

Congratulations, Titus. Your work is already creating ripples. We look forward to witnessing the legacy you continue to build
